Thailand has reinstated mandatory Covid-19 quarantine for foreign visitors from December 21 due to concerns over the spread of the Omicron variant.
With the decision to halt the 'Test and Go' waiver, visitors will have to undergo hotel quarantine, which ranges between 7 to 10 days, Oman's embassy in Bangkok said.
The Embassy said that due to the recent developments of the omicron mutant, "the Thai authorities have approved the following measures such as the temporary suspension of the entry wit without quarantine requirements until further notice.
The "sandbox" programme, which requires visitors to remain in a specific location but allows them free movement outside of their accommodation, will also be suspended in all places except for the tourist island of Phuket.
