Shaleem receives OPAL Best Practice Award 2021

Shaleem Petroleum Company has won the OPAL Best Practice Award 2021 in the Category of Health & Safety in the Class for Local Community Contractors.


The OPAL Best practice Award is given annually to companies that have made a special contribution to the Nation by executing exceptional projects. Shaleem has provided the SARS-CoV-2 Rapid Antigen Tests to all employees in order to quickly identify employees who have COVID-19. These tests are used widely in Europe, especially with school kids. These tests are self-administered, safe, easy to use and provide a result within minutes. All employees in Shaleem take a self-test before travelling to work in the oilfield. In Head Office staff are regularly screened in order to limit the spread of COVID-19. By doing this Shaleem has been able to identify and isolate COVID-19 infected employees and managed to stop the virus from spreading further. This has helped the health care system of the Sultanate of Oman. Shaleem has created a safer working space for all employees.
