SQU holds graduation ceremony for 1,369

MUSCAT: Assigned by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, Dr Mahad Said Ba’Owain, Minister of Labour, presided over the graduation ceremony of the first group of the 32nd batch of Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) on Monday. The total number of graduates in this ceremony stood at 1,369 representing the College of Arts and Social Sciences, the College of Education and the College of Engineering.


The Minister of Labour will preside over the graduation of the second group of the 32nd batch on Tuesday.



The graduation ceremony began with a speech delivered by HH Sayyid Dr Fahad bin Al Julanda al Said, SQU Vice Chancellor, in which he said: “We are so lucky to meet here today to celebrate the graduation of another batch of SQU students from the College of Arts and Social Sciences, College of Education and College of Engineering. A few weeks ago we marked 35th anniversary of SQU, when this university set off to establish a new scientific and knowledge reality based on the fundamental principles of science.”


“At the Sultan Qaboos University we are proud to see the university graduates advancing steadily to achieve their aspirations not only on the national level but also globally. SQU has made constant progress at universities’ ranking on both the regional and international levels thanks to its researchers and academics who are considered among the leading scientists of the world. We are proud not only of the new graduates but also the university’s alumni who include the chief guest, senior SQU officials and parents.”
