Muscat: In a highly thrilling and closely contested Men’s Open doubles final, Sivan G and Subhash had to gather all their resources to plank off the determined challenge of Girish KK and Jishnu V Dharamsey before emerging winners with scores of 6-1, 6-0 in the annual tennis tournament organized by Indian Social Club Oman. Both Sivan and Subhash were at their best plundering power-packed ground strokes as scores went neck-and-neck before Sivan and Subash held their nerves to pip Girish and Jishnu to win the title. Sivan who is a mentor and coach eased Subash who was in aggression and drawn some unforeseen errors during the first set but could not spot any slips in the second set except couple of service faults. Subhash who is in awesome form deliberately opted out from other events, recorded a brilliant double winning the men’s ISC doubles and men’s open doubles titles. Sivan and Subhash reached finals defeating Omani players Abdullah and Warith scoring 6-1; 6-1 while Girish & Jishnu beat Junaith and Leonardo 6-1; 6-1 in the semis.

In other matches, Abdullah and Warith beat Shanawaz and Ganesh 8-1; Junaith and Leonardo beat Abbas and Mihir scoring 8-2; Shivakumar and Cariton beat Arun and Rathish scoring 8-4.
