Doha: His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik visited Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor city, Qatar on Monday. Al Bayt Stadium is one of the venues that will host World Cup 2022 matches. The visit comes as part of His Majesty the Sultan’s state visit to Qatar.
Shaikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani, Emir of Qatar, led the welcoming party that received His Majesty the Sultan at Al Bayt Stadium.
His Majesty the Sultan and Shaikh Tamim toured the stadium which comprised replicas of all playgrounds that will host FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar. His Majesty the Sultan listened to a briefing about Al Bayt Stadium whose facilities are inspired by the design of the Arabian tent, while at the same time depicting top international designs.
His Majesty the Sultan commended the unique design of the edifice and its facilities, noting that Al Bayt Stadium affirms Qatar’s ability to present an exceptional model for hosting such a global sports event.
His Majesty the Sultan was accompanied during the visit by the head and members of the mission of honour and the Omani official delegation. --ONA
