OPAZ outlines Omani investment opportunities at Expo 2020 forum

The Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ) gave a presentation on investment opportunities in SEZs and free zones in the Sultanate during the ‘Invest in Oman Forum’ held in celebration of the Sultanate’s 51st National Day at Expo 2021 Dubai.


The Forum, organised by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, attracted potential businesspersons, interested corporates and international media. A number of government and private bodies took part in the Forum, including the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ), Oman Global Logistics Group “ASYAD”, Public Establishment for Industrial Estates “Madayn” and HSBC Bank.


During his presentation delivered in the Forum, Yousuf al Reesi, from the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones, highlighted the package of advantages and incentives of the special economic zones and free zones offered for investors. Further, he touched on the different investment opportunities available in various sectors, such as oil, petrochemicals, logistics, fisheries, tourism, mining and others.


Post the “Invest in Oman Forum”, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, arranged several meetings that brought together representatives of the participating entities, businesspersons and those interested to invest in the Sultanate of Oman. Various business opportunities have been brought to discussion between the officials and potential investors.
