

Manama: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Interior took part on Sunday in the 38th meeting of GCC ministers of interior.
Oman’s delegation was headed by Sayyid Hamoud Faisal al Busaidi, Minister of Interior.
Dr Naif Falah Al Hajraf, GCC Secretary-General said that the 38th meeting laid emphasis on the importance of the joint GCC action in sustaining security and facing challenges.
The meeting also stressed the importance of enhancing mechanisms of cooperation in the field of cybersecurity and developing joint projects in combating crime and bolstering collective security, said Dr Al Hajraf.
The meeting discussed a spectrum of topics, including the reports submitted from specialised security committees to the ministers of interior.
It also covered the recommendations of the interior ministries’ undersecretaries.
Moreover, the meeting reviewed the efforts of GCC security offices and the vital role they play, such as the GCC Criminal Information Centre to Combat Drugs in Doha, the GCC Emergency Management Centre in Kuwait, the GCC POL in Abu Dhabi and the GCC Permanent Mission to Vienna. --ONA
