Muscat: The Sultanate, represented by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, participated in the 85th meeting of the GCC Negotiating Team, via video conferencing, on Monday.
The Sultanate was represented at the meeting by Dr Saleh bin Said Masan, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion for Commerce and Industry who is also the head of Omani’s negotiating team.
The virtual meeting was attended by a number of officials from the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, the Foreign Ministry, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economy and the Directorate General of Customs at Royal Oman Police (ROP).
The negotiating team is concerned with managing negotiations and international relations between the GCC countries and other economic blocs.
The team members discussed several topics which included following up the recommendations of the 84th meeting, the GCC Secretariat-General’s report about the latest developments on the resumption of negotiations with countries and the international groups. They also discussed the GCC Secretariat-General’s proposal of the priorities of the GCC and the time perception for the negotiations of the free trade agreement between the GCC and the other countries and international groups. — ONA
