Oman, UAE seek to boost cooperation

DUBAI: Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidy, Foreign Minister, on Saturday met with Shaikh Abdullah bin Zayed al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).


During the meeting the two sides reviewed the strong fraternal relations between the two countries and discussed ways of enhancing cooperation in various fields to realise the interests of both countries and their peoples. They affirmed the keenness of the leadership of both countries to boost joint cooperation in various arenas.


Sayyid Badr referred to the depth and strength of the relationship binding the two countries and extended congratulations to the UAE foreign minister on his country being selected to host the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) scheduled to be held in 2023. He said that this selection constitutes a new international achievement for the region, wishing the UAE more progress and flourishment under the leadership of Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed al Nahyan, President of the UAE.


Shaikh Abdullah bin Zayed al Nahyan affirmed the depth of the firm fraternal relationship between the UAE and the Sultanate of Oman and their leaderships, wishing the Sultanate of Oman more progress and development under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik. — ONA
