Salem Nasser al Maskri honoured at Japan embassy

Muscat: The Embassy of Japan in the Sultanate of Oman hosted an event at the ambassador's residence to confer 'The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star' on Salem Nasser Al-Maskri, former Secretary-General of the Higher Education Council of the Sultanate of Oman.


The ceremony was attended by a number of Omani senior officials and dignitaries. Kobayashi Toshinori, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Sultanate of Oman conferred the Order on Al Maskri on behalf of the Government of Japan.


The Government of Japan announced on November 3, 2020, the conferment of the Order on Al Maskri in recognition of his outstanding contributions to


promoting friendly relations and mutual understanding between Japan and the Sultanate.
