MUSCAT: Reaffirming its position as a key player in the Islamic finance industry in Oman, Maisarah Islamic Banking Services has sponsored and participated in the 6th edition of IFN Oman Forum.


Organised by REDmoney, the full day event took place in Muscat recently under the patronage of Abdullah Salim Al Salmi, Executive President of Capital Market Authority, and was attended by Tahir Salim Al Amri, Executive President of Central Bank of Oman, along with prominent bankers, industry experts, potential investors and leaders from around the region.


During the forum, Nasser Said Al Bahantah, Chief Retail Banking Officer, reiterated Maisarah’s seamless efforts to contribute to the growth of Sharia’ compliant financial solutions, increase competitiveness of the industry and expand the market share of Islamic banking service providers in the Sultanate of Oman.


“Since the inception of our operations in 2013, we have been keen in supporting various initiatives that lead to the improvement of Islamic finance industry in the Sultanate of Oman. There is a growing appetite for Islamic banking solutions across the globe, and we are working towards accelerating the competitiveness of this market in the Sultanate with state-of-the-art products, cutting-edge technology and world-class financial solutions,” he stated.


The forum highlighted a selection of fundamental topics, including Oman Vision 2040 and the Islamic economy, green transition and sustainability-linked finance, Sukuk and investment funds, issues facing Islamic banks in the Sultanate of Oman, disrupting and enabling Islamic fintech and crowdfunding platforms among other discussions.


Meanwhile, Maisarah put in display a bundle of products, services and financial solutions that were available for its retail and business customers and potential investors. During the event, Mohsin Shaik bin Sehu Mohamed, Senior Executive Manager, & Head Investment Banking at Maisarah, participated in the panel discussion on Green, Transition and Sustainability-Linked Finance, Sukuk and Investment Funds in the Sultanate of Oman.
