The Australian Federal Government will allow the return of international students studying in various universities in Canberra from the beginning of the academic year 2022, the Sultanate of Oman's consulate in Australia said.

The students will be exempted from home and institutional quarantine, provided they provide proof of receiving two doses of the Coronavirus vaccine and submit a PCR certificate issued no more than 72 hours before travel.

The Federal Government recently announced the implementation of the national plan to reopen international borders in three main phases.

The first stage will include all citizens, permanent residents, and their families. The second stage will cover international students and business owners while the third stage will allow the entry of tourists.

The states of Victoria and New South Wales will allow the return of citizens, permanent residents, and their families from November 1, /2021.

The students will be exempted, provided they provide proof of receiving two doses of the Coronavirus vaccine and submit a PCR certificate issued no more than 72 hours before travel.

The Australian Government had said it will consider the return of international students to study at Australian universities once the vaccination rate for groups 12 years and above in Australia, has reached 80 percent. The country hopes to achieve the target by beginning December 2021.
