When we feel like we don’t have time to slow down is usually when our bodies and minds need to slow the most. When we feel like we don’t have time to slow down is when we are feeling rushed, have a lot to do, have something to prove, or places we need to be, and not have enough time. At times like these, we are overwhelmed, anxious, or frustrated. When we feel that way we usually do not perform our best or make the best choices. That is why these are times when we NEED to slow down. By slowing down we give ourselves time and space to breathe and think. We are able to relax which then leads to us being able to focus and lead to better decisions and better work.
When we feel like we don’t have time to slow down we are living in a ‘lack mindset’. A mindset where there isn’t enough time or we don’t have enough of ourselves to give. We are staying there because there aren't enough of certain things which are why we cannot slow down. When we are in a lack mindset we are living in a reality of ‘not enough’. When we do what we know we need to do, in this case: slowing down, we move from a lack mindset to an abundant mindset. You are now telling yourself that there is enough. You can do what you need to do, what you know is best for you.
The more we choose an abundant mindset, the more abundance we invite into our reality. We start to infuse the frequency and mindset of abundance into other aspects of our lives. In an abundant mindset, we do the things that are good for us. We take breaks, we listen to our bodies, and we take care of our mental and physical health. By doing this we perform better in our careers, relationships, and personal lives.
When you choose abundance you are choosing your future self. You are choosing who you want to be and making decisions that would best serve that version of you. The future version of you does not want to be overwhelmed and anxious. In order for that to happen, you need to start taking care of yourself here and now.
We often wonder why we don’t receive what we want in life. It’s usually because we don’t make decisions and choices focused on who we want to be. Here are 3 questions to ask yourself to help you shift to an empowered abundant mindset:
1. How do I want to feel in the future?
2. How can I practice feeling that now?
3. How can I embody the leader, visionary, business owner, student, etc. that I want to be In the future right now?
Coming back to these questions often will help you make empowered and strategic choices for yourself. Changing your reality is up to you. If you want something, want to be someone, or want to achieve something... remember that your choices matter. Start choosing who you want to be in the future now.
