Over 1 million women got Covid-19 jab in Oman

MUSCAT: As many as 1,076,933 women have got Covid-19 vaccines since the outset of the national vaccination campaign in the Sultanate, according to Dr Fatima bint Ibrahim al Hiniyah, Head of Women’s Health Department at the Ministry of Health.


The vaccination against Covid-19 along with the precautionary measures proved effective in containing the pandemic.


The epidemiological indicators have improved significantly due to a nation-wide vaccination campaign with both the number of daily coronavirus cases, hospitalization and related deaths declining significantly including maternal mortality, she said.


Al Hiniyah affirmed that the advantages from the Covid-19 vaccine surpasses all known or potential risk during pregnancy. It has been proved that the vaccination boost antibodies that can also protect the children as the antibodies were found in the umbilical cord blood of pregnant women who received Covid-19 vaccine.
