Dhofar power past Muscat in Omantel League

Goals from Omar al Malki and Mohd al Aseem powered Dhofar to a 2-0 victory against Muscat in the Omantel League match on Sunday.


In another match, Al Ittihad and Rustaq played out a 2-2 draw. Abdul Majid Shaman and Younis al Mushafri scored the goals for Al Ittihad while Mohammad al Ghavri and Ahmed al Adawi netted for Rustaq.


AL NAHDHA WIN


Meanwhile, Al Nahdha commenced their campaign with a 3-1 win over Al Mussnah on Friday at the former’s home in Al Buraimi Sports Complex.


The triumph meant clinching of Buraimi’s representative for the first winning points in this season.


Al Nasr snatched a crucial victory as they edged the hosts Nizwa 1-0 at the Nizwa sports Complex to register a positive start. League title holders, Seeb were held to a 1-1 draw by Saham at Sohar Sports Complex.


Also, the top fixture of the first week between Al Suwaiq and Saham ended on a 1-1 draw at Sohar Sports complex.


Coached by the former coach of Oman Olympic team, Hamed al Azani sent a strong message to all the participating teams in the top-tier league with a 3-1 win over Al Mussnah.


Ali al Rushaidi was the star of the match as he netted two goals for the hosts beside a goal from Manssor al Naimi. The only goal scored from Al Mussnah was by Khalid al Hadabi.


The professional player Diego Berboza netted all the important goal to deliver a significant victory for his team Al Nasr. Salalah powerhouse club managed to clinch crucial three points from an away game and this will encourage the team players for top show in the forthcoming rounds.


The national football team player, Salah al Yahyaei, put his team Seeb ahead as he scored the opening goal in the 37th minute. The equalizer from the hosts Saham came by Faisal Al Buraiki in the dying minutes of the first half.


The second week of the league will take place on Thursday as Al Mussnah will play against Sohar at Al Rustaq Sports Complex while Al Nahdha will host Saham at Al Buraimi Sports Complex.


Salalah giants, Dhofar, will face Nizwa at Al Saada Stadium and Muscat will take on defending champion Seeb at Seeb Stadium.


Al Rustaq Sports Complex venue will host two matches, the first is between Al Suwaiq and Al Ittihad while Al Rustaq will clash Bahla.


The concluding match of the week is between Al Nasr and Oman club at the former’s home at Al Saada Stadium.
