Muscat: Oman will aim for a victory against Bangladesh on Tuesday to ensure their spot in the last round of the 2022 Fifa World Cup.
The concluding match of the national team in Group E of the joint qualifier of Fifa World Cup Qatar 2022 and AFC Asian Cup China 2023 will kick off at the Jassim bin Hamed Stadium in Doha at 9:10 pm (Oman time). The first leg match ended for Oman by 4-1 in Muscat. Oman is inching closer to seal a slot for the final round of the World Cup qualifier and all the heroes of Red Warriors are eager to earn this direct ticket to the next stage.
The Sultanate team possesses high hopes in moving to the final round of qualifier among the other five competitors as best second-placed finishers. A victory or a draw against Bangladesh will mean the ‘Red Warriors’ progress to the final round of the World Cup qualifier. The triumph will raise the Sultanate team’s tally to 18 points behind Qatar who ended the qualification as group topper by 22 points.
Oman’s players are aiming for securing a spot in the final stage of the World Cup qualifier for the third time as they had qualified in 2002 and 2014. In case of a defeat from the opponent, the national team will qualify if Afghanistan registers a victory against India with a big margin of scoring.
Coach Branko Ivankovic’s men showed solid performance during the previous game against Afghanistan which ended at 2-1. Abdullah Fawaz, the star of the match, after his perfect show during the encounter and he scored both the winning goals. The Croatian coach may continue in a similar line-up list as the team heroes are familiarized with the existing playing system.
The top three middle youngsters including Abdullah Fawaz, Zaher al Aghbari and Salah al Yahyaei will be the vital players to assist the attacking side which comprises Abdulaziz al Maqbali and Mohsin al Ghassani. The entry of Khalid al Hajri is possible as well in anytime during the game as a substitution.
The national team players are set for the concluding match of the qualifier after having three training sessions in the past few days. The coaching staff focused on the weakness areas and enhancing the strong points. Having the right concentration from all the players during the whole match will assist to deliver the desired technical performance and register the triumph.
