Muscat: Only vaccinated visitors and workers can enter a wedding hall as the Supreme Committee on Covid-19 in the Sultanate has allowed meetings and group activities with certain conditions.

“Entry is regulated in accordance with the health protocols issued by the authorities as part of the preventive measures against coronavirus”, said a statement from the committee while issuing the guidelines.

In addition to notifying the municipality concerned of the event 72 hours in advance, both the owner of the hall and the wedding party should sign an undertaking that they would follow the health protocols issued by the Supreme Committee regarding gatherings.

According to the guidelines, the number of people attending the party should not exceed 50 per cent of the hall’s total capacity and a board displaying the possibilities of risks involved in gatherings and the need to maintain physical distance.

“In the event of any of the attendees falls sick due to non-compliance of the guidelines, the owner of the hall will be held responsible”, said the statement.

The guidelines insist chairs with posters should be placed so as to keep physical distance as stipulated by the Ministry of Health. All should wear masks.

There should be a separate register to keep the details of the workers, including vaccination, their entry and exit from the place of the wedding party. If a new worker arrives from outside the Sultanate, “it is necessary to work according to the protocol in force at the Ministry of Health”.

With regard to cleaning and disinfection operations, which should be done more frequently, the materials used for this should be entered in the register.
