The mountainous village of Ajma in the Wilayat of Dima Wa Al Ta’in in North Sharqiyah Governorate is one that shouldn’t be missed when the tourist plans for a holiday for the purpose of relaxation. It is located at an altitude of 200 m above sea level and 150 km away from Muscat Governorate.
Sheikh Hamad Al Batashi said the name of the village means the sand in the middle of the mountains. the temperature is high in summer and moderate in winter There are many trees in the village, and several wadis pass through it in one stream, including Wadi Maas and Wadi Khab Hana. It is one of the main wadis feeding the Wadi Al-Kabir, which flows into the Wadi Dhayqah Dam.
he indicated that the village of Ajma is characterized by the presence of a falaj that never dries and extends from the highest edge of the village to the lowest edges. The spring of the falaj is in the middle of mountains, passing along the wadis for a distance of about 9 km and splitting the village in two side. The village has acquired several names, such as Al Alayah, Al-Balad, and Al-Rajee, and the old Al-Balad. The village of Ajma is one of the old villages that people targeted for living because its richness in water.
There are also several ancient monuments in the country, in addition to a beautiful village at the top of the mountains called Al Zarqa. the tourist can see the creativity of the Omani man in the past when viewing the agricultural terraces that are watered from a spring in the middle of the mountain.
