Work begins on various infra projects at KOM

Muscat: The Public Establishment for Industrial Estates - Madayn - has started implementing the project to construct the ring road at Knowledge Oasis Muscat (KOM) and other facilities.


Eng. Jaafar bin Mohammed al Ajmi, Director General of Knowledge Oasis Muscat, said that this project will provide investors and business owners with a dual carriageway that allows quick access and connection to facilities throughout the oasis.


The projects include modernization of the on-site rainwater drainage and security systems, construction of 3,662 km of dual road 4,022 km of single carriageway road, to be delivered by January 30, 2023.


In addition to the Ring Road project, Madayn is working on the implementation of several projects at KOM, including the multi-story car parking project, spread over 14,863 square meters with a capacity to accommodate 1,000 vehicles at the same time. The construction will start in the fourth quarter of this year 2021.


The projects to be completed in the first quarter of next 2022 include shaded walkways, exhibition spaces, outdoor cafes, bus stops and a cycling track. Work is underway for the construction of the Building 6, which will add 40,000 sqm of rentable office space according to the latest specifications upon completion.
