MUSCAT: The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology floated a consultancy tender for the remaining tasks of Al Batinah Coast Highway’s First Phase, the completion of the road leading to Al Suwaiq harbour and the preparation of tender execution documents for the project, which extends from the Wilayat of Barka to the area of Wudam Al Sahel in the Wilayat of Al Musanaa and onwards to Al Suwaiq harbour.
The bids will be opened on June 7, 2021, after which the executive contractors’ tender will be floated.
The project is expected to be awarded before the end of 2021.
Al Batinah coastal highway project figures among the vital elements of the next phase of comprehensive development along the coastal strip. It is expected to activate commercial and logistic operations and attract private sector investment in economic value-added projects that are vibrantly linked to major checkpoints in the Sultanate. -- ONA
