Muscat: The Ministry of Health, represented by the Department of Blood Banks Services, has appealed to citizens and residents to take the initiative to donate blood, to ensure the sustainability of blood availability for cases in need, given the sharp decline in all levels of blood groups during this period.

The Ministry stressed the importance of continuing to donate blood due to the urgent need for blood.

To facilitate blood donors, coordination has been made between the Ministry of Health and the competent authorities, as blood donors will be allowed to go to blood banks in the various governorates of the Sultanate during the lockdown period, through a temporary travel permit. People can contact the blood banks on WhatsApp (9455 5648)

The Ministry has announced the timings for blood donation at the Central Blood Bank in Bausher.

Saturday to Thursday (8 AM - 8 PM)

Friday 3 pm - 8 pm

The first day of Eid al-Adha will be a holiday
