Muscat: The Sultanate, represented by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources took part on Thursday in the 5th meeting of the GCC Ministerial Committee for Food Safety.
Held via video-conferencing, the Sultanate was represented in the meeting by Dr Saud Hamoud al Habsi, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources.
The meeting discussed several topics on food safety and quality, mainly the GCC Unified Food Law, besides approving the GCC Guide for Control on Imported Foods.
The meeting also discussed the approval of the strategic plan for the GCC Food Safety Committee (2021-2025) as well as amending its name to the action plan of the GCC Committee for Food Safety. --ONA
