Muhanna Al-Zaidi from Wadi Fida, Wilayat Dhank was able to construct a suspension bridge with a length of 40 meters and a height of 13 meters. the lengths of wires used reached one kilometer to ensure the rigidity and cohesion of the bridge to ensure safety measures.

Muhanna explained that the bridge was built by self-efforts and by high engineering standards, based on a three-year research on the Internet and visits to a large number of suspension bridges. “in cooperation with my brothers and under my supervision, the aim of establishing this bridge is to facilitate access to our farm on the other side. It was established in our own property to gain the necessary experience in building bridges”, he shared.

He also highlighted some of the challenges faced him like the search for suitable materials, which took a long time, as rust-resistant steel was used in the gratings. the bridge can hold up to 35 tons.

The young man supervising the project confirmed that his ambition to build this bridge was only to gain the experience necessary to build a bridge stronger than this in a public place to be considered a tourist attraction. the total cost amounted to more than 2,000 Omani riyals.
