MUSCAT: The aerial exercise Al Hazm carried out by the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO), kicked off at Al Musannah Air Base, on Sunday.

The Sultan of Oman’s Parachute of the Royal Army of Oman (RAO), the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO) and Sultan’s Special Force provide support to the exercise activities.

The drill includes multiple training and simulation fields that suit the roles of the participating forces and the tasks carried out by various types of aircrafts in accordance with the exercise plan and the desired national roles.

The exercise aims to sustain combat effectiveness and readiness of RAFO personnel and provide training on the modern aircrafts and the electronic military equipment and programmes which were introduced to RAFO as part of the continued modernization strategy with a view of achieving the operational targets undertaken by RAFO in protecting the Sultanate’s airspace.

The exercise also aims to activate the concept of joint aerial operations and leverage the standard of operational coordination in the joint aerial action between the units of Sultan’s Armed Forces. — ONA
