MUSCAT: BP has announced jobs for Omani engineering graduates as part of the 2021 intake of its successful ‘Challenger’ programme.
The Challenger programme, which has been running since 2010, demonstrates BP’s commitment to developing local talent. Attracting the best graduates in Oman, the programme supports technical and leadership development across BP. Over 80 Omanis have joined the programme since its launch.
Last month seven Omanis successfully graduated from the Challenger programme in the Wells team.
Vice president of Wells for BP in Oman, Mohammed al Najwani, commented: “I am delighted to see young Omanis pursue their ambitions and develop professionally through BP’s Challenger programme. We are proud to support Omani careers in the energy industry through this programme and look forward to welcoming some new graduates this year.”
Positions for the 2021 intake were announced on Petrojobs in the disciplines of instrument and control, electrical and mechanical engineering. The final date to apply is 21 June 2021.
The Challenger programme is a two to three-year competency-based course, designed to prepare graduates for roles across BP’s business in various disciplines including environment, engineering, subsurface, people & culture, finance, procurement & supply chain management, and business & administration.
Last month, BP released its first socioeconomic review in Oman which includes examples of how the company has supported local employment and Omanisation.
