Following the Royal directives of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Ministry of Labour will implement the scheme to support the wages of workers in the private sector.

As per the scheme, the ministry will support the salaries of the newcomers with RO 200, provided the employer bears the agreed wage difference. The scheme will cover 15,000 job opportunities for a period of two years.

The ministry will receive applications from private sector companies who wish to benefit from wage support between June 8 and July 8.

A team from the Ministry of Labour will review applications along with the list of professions, which will be followed by signing an agreement with the companies.

The ministry also called for registering the employment contract directly from the beginning of the government support.

Employment should be at least for a period equal to government support (four years).

The scheme will be for a job-seeker who has been not previously employed.

The distribution of support will be according to educational qualifications (30 per cent for those with a general education diploma, 30 per cent for those with a post-secondary diploma, 40 per cent for university graduates).

The initiative does not include job-seekers in universities, colleges and institutes.

Recruitment must take place a month after the final approval.
