Sultanate, European body seek to enhance ties

MUSCAT: The Sultanate's Foreign Ministry and the European External Action Service (EEAS) on Tuesday held a political consultation session via video-conferencing.


The Omani side was headed by Shaikh Khalifa Ali al Harthy, Under-Secretary of the Foreign Ministry for Diplomatic Affairs, while the European side was chaired by Enrique Mora, Deputy Secretary General of the EEAS.

The session reviewed bilateral relations between the Sultanate and the European Union (EU) and means of promoting them in various fields to serve joint interests. The session also exchanged views on the regional and international issues of common concern and the latest regional developments.


Najim Sulaiman al Abri, the Sultanate's Ambassador to Belgium and the EU, Patrick Simonnet, EU Ambassador to the Sultanate, and some officials from both sides took part in the session. - ONA
