The Earthquake Monitoring Centre at Sultan Qaboos University on Wednesday reported an earthquake measuring 3.4 at 11. 23 am in the Masirah fault area of Jalan Bani Bu Ali,125 km from Sur at a depth of 10 km.
Dr. Issa al Hussain, Director of the Seismological Center at Sultan Qaboos University, said that the epicenter is 250 km from the city of Muscat, 260 km from Duqm, and about 125 km from Sur. He said such tremors are small in size and will have no effect on houses and people.
