Muscat: The Sultanate in a speech at the emergency session of the United Nations General Assembly on Palestine in light of the recent developments held in New York on Wednesday affirmed that the path towards peace does not come through killing and destruction, but through dialogue, negotiations and reaching understandings that preserve the supreme interests of each party.

“What is happening in the Palestinian territories is nothing but a manifestation of the occupation. More than 700 resolutions issued by the General Assembly and the UN Security Council, all of which have not been implemented by the Israeli occupation authorities, and to preserve the credibility of the UN Security Council, a mechanism must be put in place to implement these decisions," said the Sultanate’s representative.
