

MUSCAT: The Economic and Financial Committee of Majlis Ash’shura discussed the preparations for the Minister of Heritage and Tourism’s statement scheduled to be presented at the council’s 11th ordinary session on Sunday.
The Economic and Financial Committee held its 11th meeting of the second annual sitting (2020-2021) under the chairmanship of Ahmed bin Said al Sharqi.
During the meeting, the panel debated a number of topics related to the ministry’s statement including the reality of tourism undercurrent and futuristic impacts of Covid-19, the development of legislation governing the tourism sector as well as the future of tourism marketing, and the role of human resources in the tourism sector in the Sultanate.
The committee discussed a number of topics aimed at leveraging the tourism sector and analysed the various topics of the statement.
Besides, the committee reviewed the response of the Council of Ministers to the reports of the State Council and Majlis Ash’shura regarding the 10th Five-Year Development Plan (2021-2025) and the general budget of the state 2021.
