

Majlis Ash’shura will host Salim bin Mohammad al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism, on Sunday who will present his statement before the council.
This was stated by Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed al Nadabi, Secretary-General of Majlis Ash'shura. He added that the council will allocate its 11th ordinary session for discussing the minister’s statement.
Shaikh al Nadabi noted that the first axis of the statement will discuss the reality of the tourism sector under the current and future impact of Covid-19. This includes several topics such as the tourism sector’s projected contribution to the Tenth Five-year Development Plan (2021-2025).
The second axis, Shaikh Al Nadabi said, will discuss the development of legislation governing the tourism sector by referring to legislation governing the sector under the Covid-19 pandemic as well as the legislative development of the tourism law and modernizing the executive regulation of the tourism Act. This is in addition to preparing the tourism governance system and the outcomes of the Tanfeedh programme.
The ministry’s third axis will discuss the future of marketing and tourism promotion through referring to the tourism marketing goals and activating the meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE), the Secretary-General of Majlis Ash’shura said adding that the fourth axis will focus on human resources in the tourism sector and the impact of Covid-19 on the tourism market.
He noted that the fifth axis will focus on aspects related to the heritage sector by explaining the ministry’s policies, plans and programs for the heritage sector.
