Muscat, May 15 - The Government of Oman dispatched special medical assistance for India’s fight against Covid-19 on Wednesday aboard a Royal Air Force (RAFO) plane.

“The Government of India expresses its deep gratitude to His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and the government and people of Oman for their support to India during the difficult time of Covid-19 pandemic. India welcomes and deeply appreciates the essential medical supplies of ventilators, SPO2 monitors and medicines gifted by the Sultanate. This gesture is a testament to very close and longstanding strategic partnership between India and Oman,” said a press release issued by the Embassy of India in Muscat.

“India is also grateful to the Indian diaspora in Oman for their continuous support and for their contribution in the form of 30 Oxygen concentrators and 100 Oxygen cylinders, which were also airlifted aboard the RAFO plane.”

In line with our historical and close friendly ties, India is committed to further strengthening our bilateral relationship with Oman, not only in fighting this global pandemic together, but also in all areas of mutual interest, the release said.
