Coach Talib announces players for Morocco camp

Oman beach soccer head coach Talib Hilal has announced the squad for the upcoming overseas camp in Morocco which will take place from May 10 to 16.


The external camp is part of the team’s preparation for the Fifa Beach Soccer World Cup Russia 2021 that will be held from August 19 to 29.


The announced squad for the external camp featured many faces who had experience at the previous editions of Fifa Beach Soccer World including: Yahya al Oraimi, Mundher al Oraimi, Jalal al Sinani, Khalid al Oraimi and Eid al Farsi besides other players: Mashal al Oraimi, Abdullah al Souti, Nouh al Zadjali, Amjad al Hamdani, Younis al Oaisi, Ahmed al Mashrafi, Shareef al Balushi, Hamood al Touqi, Rashid al Badi, Said al Farsi and Salim al Oraimi.


Two friendly matches are confirmed for the team against Morocco and will take place on May 15 and 16. The next camp will be in Dubai during June and will feature some friendly games.


It will be the fourth participation for the Talib Hilal’s men at the world’s high-profile beach soccer tournament in Russia next summer. The third appearance for the Sultanate’s beach soccer team had registered the best show as the team delivered solid performance in the global showpiece event at Fifa Beach Soccer World Cup in Paraguay in December 2019.


The Sultanate team had recorded a crucial win against Nigeria while they had suffered two losses against Portugal and Brazil. This edition, Oman are expected to perform better with the experienced players in the squad.


The Asian Football body, Asian Football Confederation (AFC) announced on April 21, that the top eight teams in the last three editions of the AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup will represent the AFC in the Beach Soccer World Cup Russia including Japan, Oman and the United Arab Emirates.


On the other hand, world football body Fifa announced that the domestic referee, Turki al Salhi, who have international umpiring badge, will officiate the matches during the Russian edition of Beach Soccer World Cup. Al Salhi is one of the top umpires in beach soccer with experience of officiating in many Asian, European and international tournaments and championships.
