The Ministry of Health on Sunday announced 2,006 new cases of Covid-19 and 37 deaths for three days.


Of these, 760 cases were recorded on Thursday, 612 on Friday, and 634 on Saturday.


Seventeen deaths and 1,082 cases were reported from Muscat Governorate alone.


The total number of cases registered in the Sultanate has now reached 201,350, including 2,120 deaths.


The total number of recoveries is 184,647, while the recovery rate is 92 percent.


Eight-four (84) people were admitted to hospitals across the country, taking the total number of inpatients to 752, including 275 in intensive care units (ICUs).


Meanwhile, based on the decision made by the Supreme Committee on May 4, the Civil Aviation Authority issued new guidelines to all airlines operating in the Sultanate.


Institutional quarantine applies to all non-Omani arrivals into the Sultanate, including families with children under the age of 18 from 6 pm on May 11.


The home quarantine for citizens and the other categories excluded under previous circulars will continue to be in place, taking into consideration that the excluded categories will be subject to the approved procedures upon arriving in the Sultanate.


NO EID GATHERINGS


With the approach of Eid al Fitr, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) has enhanced its efforts to achieve the highest security level for citizens and residents.


ROP has called upon citizens and residents to continue with their commitment to the decisions of the Supreme Committee tasked with handling the developments resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic especially by avoiding gatherings and family visits during the Eid holidays to ensure the safety of all.
