‘Black Panther’ and ‘Captain Marvel’ sequels reveal official titles

New York: Avengers movies, assemble! Marvel Studios on Monday unveiled the official titles for the upcoming “Black Panther” and Captain Marvel” sequels in a videohighlighting the superhero franchise’s list of upcoming movies. “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” is scheduled to arrive in theaters July 8, 2022, while “The Marvels” is slated for November 11, 2022. The Marvel movies scheduled for this year include “Black Widow” on July 9, “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” on September 3,”Eternals” on November 5 and “Spider-Man: No Way Home” on December17.


Monday’s three-minute video included footage from “Eternals,” which is directed by Oscar winner Chloe Zhao and stars Gemma Chan, Angelina Jolie, Kumail Nanjiani and more. The upcoming lineup also features “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” on March 25, 2022, “Thor: Love and Thunder” on May 6,2022, “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” on February 17, 2023 and”Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3? on May 5, 2023.


The new “Black Panther” will mark the second installment to thatmovie series. The original “Black Panther” film starred ChadwickBoseman as the title hero and grossed more than 1.3 billion dollars following its release in 2018.


Actress Lupita Nyong’o said last month on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”that she believes the “Black Panther” sequel “very much honors”Boseman, who died last year following a private battle with colon cancer.


The new “Captain Marvel” will be the second installment in thatseries, which stars Brie Larson as the central hero. — tca/dpa
