Strong gust rushed through Muscat all through the midnight and early hours of Monday, which according to the National Multihazard Early Warning Center is part of the thunderstorms coming out of the West al Hajar Mountains.
Many wilayats experienced hail storms as well. “It is the summer rain but also there is a short wave in the upper level,” said Mohammed al Mashayki, weather forecaster at the Multihazard Early Warning Center.
