MUSCAT: An orientation programme on the National Strategy for Urban Development of Muscat Governorate was held under the patronage of Sayyid Saud bin Hilal al Busaidy, Minister of State and Governor of Muscat, in the presence of walis, shaikhs and senior officials. A member at the company assigned to set the regional spatial urban strategy of Muscat, highlights the urban strategy plan charted for Muscat Governorate, the importance of views on current challenges to architectural planning and the future of urban planning in the Governorate.
He also presented a definition of the National Strategy for Urban Development as a framework to manage, organise and guide high sustainable urban and rural development. The National Strategy for Urban Development will redesign and build the planning system, and develop organisational, professional and technical capabilities of the planning system, in order to accommodate and implement current and future strategic requirements.
