MUSCAT: Mark Lancaster, Minister of State for the Armed Forces in the United Kingdom, on Thursday visited the headquarters of the military exercise Al Shumookh 2, which is currently being implemented by the Sultanate with participation of a number of military, security and civil sectors. Al Shumookh 2 will be followed directly by the joint Al Saif Al Sareea 3 (Swift Sword 3) exercise, which will be executed with the UK Royal Armed
Forces during the second half of this month. The Sultan’s Armed Forces will participate fully in this major exercise, where all land, air and naval units, government agencies and other security services will work
side by side with British counterparts. Lancaster and his delegation also paid a field visit to the British armed forces participating in Swift Sword 3 exercise. — ONA
