Two people died and one sustained serious injuries in a road accident near Hafa area on Thursday.
The exact cause of the accident is not yet known as the police are investigating into the matter. According to eyewitnesses, both the accident victims were women expatriates. Their nationalities are yet to be confirmed.
According to sources, both the victims were cruise tourists, landed in Salalah on Thursday morning and were in Salalah only for a couple of hours. They were supposed to halt in Muscat for another two days.
“I came to know about the accident after noticing long queue of vehicles on roads near Hafa Souq and police vehicles and ambulances started running with their sirens on. Later I came to know that two of them were declared dead at the hospital, while the third accident victim is critical,” said a shopkeeper in Hafa Souq.
