Symposium to shed light on Block Chain

MUSCAT: The Block Chain Symposium will kick off on Monday. At a press conference on Sunday, Dr Yousef bin Abdullah al Balushi, Head of Science, Knowledge and Technology Transfer Office at the Foreign Ministry and Head of the Organising Committee, said the four-day event will shed light on potential changes in global business and their effect on services and public management sectors due to the use of technology-based applications. The symposium will highlight the importance of this technology and seek to raise awareness of the stakeholders of the effectiveness of block chain applications. It will also explore the potential economic opportunities and their associated challenges. It will identify the general frameworks for implementing the block chain technologies in the proposed experimental projects in the Sultanate. — ONA
