Muscat, August 27 – A two-day ‘Summer Media Centre’ is being organised by the Youth Committee at the Majis Club.
Voluntary media teams from northern Batinah states are organising the media centre at the Oman International Maritime College Theatre.
It is aimed at “spreading the culture of real media, guiding voluntary teams in the field of media and charting the right way for them to activate their role in society”.
This is besides providing them with legal information that preserves their rights and enables them to perform work in an effective way.
Mohammed bin Yousuf al Khouri, Chairman of the Youth Committee at the Majis Club, said the event is being held in partnership with government and private institutions, including the Ministry of Tourism, Public Prosecution and Omani Lawyers’ Association.
The media coverage will be by Oman Arabic and Oman Daily Observer newspapers.
Al Khoury said the summer media centre will see training workshops on topics related to legal and media culture as well as discussions on a number of aspects that develop skills of participating teams.
