Muscat: Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa has announced that its Area Director of Finance, Antriksh Khurana (pictured), has been named the ‘Finance Person of the Year’ at the annual Hotelier Middle East Awards 2018.
Representing both Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa and Shangri-La Al Husn Resort & Spa at the regional awards in Dubai, Khurana impressed the panel of judges with his future thinking style — the implementation of a custom-made cloud-based HR system. This model has been adopted by other Shangri-La MENA region hotels as best practice.
Speaking about the win, Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa General Manager Juergen Doerr, said: “We recognise that Area Director of Finance, Antriksh Khurana plays a much larger role than overseeing numbers. He has been instrumental in digitising the finance function — an endeavour which has spanned from automation, paperless controls, remote working and even artificial intelligence.
