MUSCAT: The State Financial and Administrative Audit Institution (SFAAI) has referred its annual report to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos which includes the audit results for the year 2016.
SFAAI has also sent copies of the audit results reports to the Council of Ministers, the State Council and Majlis Ash’shura in accordance with Article (29) of the State Financial and Administrative Audit Law promulgated by Royal Decree No 111/2011.
The 2016 annual report included audit results of the state administrative apparatus in terms of revenues of the public treasury, public expenditures, internal audit systems and the state final account.
Besides, the report included audit results of some firms, public authorities and establishments which are under the supervision of SFAAI.
The report also included the outcomes of implementing administrative audit and assessing the performance of the agencies under the supervision of SFAAI, in addition to the outcomes of inspecting some complaints and notifications which have been received by the complaints and notifications department through the different media means.
The report reviewed the awareness programs carried out by SFAAI about its role in protecting public fund, enhancing fairness and promoting self-audit culture among employees at the various sectors.
The report highlighted the areas at the governmental performance that need more improvement and development.
It also discussed some implementable recommendations and proposals. — ONA
