SALALAH: An awareness seminar themed ‘Empowering Rural Woman’ was held at the Crowne Plaza Salalah on Thursday under the auspices of Sayyid Mohammed bin Sultan bin Hamoud al Busaidy, Minister of State and Governor of Dhofar.
The seminar was organised by Dhofar Businesswoman Centre, in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries and Al Raffd Fund.
Haifaa bint Mohammed al Zawamriyah, Head of Dhofar Businesswoman Centre gave a speech saying that the seminar aims at empowering rural woman and enhancing her role in the society through finding projects suitable with her environment.
The seminar included a working paper, presented by Zubaida bint Abdullah al Araimiyah, Supervisor of Rural Woman Development at the Directorate General of Agriculture and Animal Wealth on Developing Rural Woman. It also included a dialogue session on Empowering Woman with participation of officials at several relevant departments. — ONA
