Seminar to discuss partnership with pvt sector

MUSCAT: The Ministry of Education in collaboration with Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) will hold a seminar today to thrash out visions and viewpoints on partnership with the private sector for operating government schools.


The two-day seminar will be held under the auspices of Shaikh Mohammed bin Hamdan al Toobi, Adviser at the ministry of education. It will be attended by educationists, businessmen interested in the educational sector.


The seminar is aimed at boosting partnership with the private sector between the public and private sectors and bridging the gap with regard to implementing


the government contracting model and shedding light on the organisational and legal frameworks of the public-private partnership in education.


The seminar will review international experiences on the government operational contracting model as well as reviewing alternatives and proposals for applying the model in the Sultanate.


A number of working papers dealing with the legal and organisational frameworks of the public-private partnership in education (the government operational contracting model) among others, will be discussed at the seminar.
