MUSCAT: The Royal Oman Police (ROP), in cooperation with the Oman Arab Bank (OAB) has launched a special service to pay traffic (including GCC) and municipality fines through a self-kiosk at the Muscat International Airport. ROP said that this service has been launched for the convenience of the passengers who have to settle traffic fines before leaving the country, even on short visits or vacation. Since 2015, expatriates leaving the country for a holiday or business trip are required to pay all traffic fines before departure. At the old airport, ROP had set up a special counter at the immigration to pay for the outbound travellers to pay traffic fines. Similar facilities were also available at the land border.
