MUSCAT: A number of wilayats of Musandam received varying amounts of rains on Saturday as a result of the Sultanate is coming under the influence of a low pressure system. Rainwater rushed down from mountain tops causing wadis to overflow as mountainous areas experienced heavy downpours. Areas such Kamzar, Lima and Khasab experienced moderate to extremely heavy showers accompanied by active winds causing an increase in the water level and reduced temperatures. The Directorate-General of Meteorology and Air Navigation at the Public Authority of Civil Aviation predicts scattered rains for today. The weather will be fine to partly cloudy over Musandam Governorate and part of Hajar Mountains with chances of scattered showers and formation of low-level clouds and occasional fog from late night to early morning on parts of South Al Sharqiyah and Wusta governorates.
