Programme for new Muslim converts

The Department of Cultural Exchange and Acquaintance with Islam at the Iftaa Office of the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs has opened the registration at the Hidaya Programme for teaching new Muslims at the College of Shariah Sciences in Al Khuwair. The department has stipulated some conditions for joining the programme including passing the English Language Level Test. Besides, the applicant should be a new Muslim convert of less than three years since joining Islam and he/she should have a resident ID card and a certificate Muslim convert.


Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Ahmed al Khalili, director of the department, said the year-long programme aims to teach new Muslims about Islam. He added that the programme targets to familiarise new Muslims with information about Islam. The programme will teach the short versions (surah) of the Holy Quran, jurisprudence, Islamic creed, Islamic history and the Sirah of the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and Arabic language. The deadline for registration will be on Wednesday September 19 but it can be extended.
