Muscat: At the initiative of Oman Olympic Committee, Zubair Corporation signed a support and sponsorship agreement with a number of sports associations and committees. Efforts are under way within Oman Olympic Committee (OOC) in the context of its board’s trend and keen endeavour towards cooperation and coordination with sports associations and committees in the best interest of Omani sport. OOC continues to follow up the recommendations of the Planning & Follow-up Committee for participation in the 18th Asian Games scheduled for August 18 – September 2, 2018. For that purpose, it has maintained coordination with the Ministry of Sports Affairs resulting in the ministry’s initiative to provide financial support to OOC as contribution for the national teams participating in the Games.
In the same context, a partnership agreement will be signed today in support of the national teams participating in the 18th Asian Games with contribution from both the Ministry of Sports Affairs and Zubair Corporation. The signing ceremony will be attended by a number of OOC board members, chairmen of sports associations and committees and representatives of the Ministry of Sports Affairs and Zubair Corporation.
The agreement is intended to contribute to preparing players of national teams of weightlifting, beach volleyball, swimming, sailing and athletics, the aim being to enable them to achieve the desirable goals and represent the Sultanate in a better way.
