MUSCAT, Sept 11 – Oman national under-16 football team will take on Indonesia on Wednesday in their first friendly match during their camp in Malaysia. The match is part of Oman’s preparation for AFC U-16 Championship to be held in Malaysia from September 20 to October 7. The match will kick off at 12:30 pm (Oman Time). Head coach Yaqoob al Sabahi and assistant coach Hilal al Oufi will look to review the players’ technical and physical fitness in the match. Al Sabahi is likely to start the match with the proposed starting list for AFC Championship.
The coach is expected to use available substitutions to give chance to the players on the bench as well. Oman will take on Australia in their last preparation friendly match on September 15. In the Asian Championship, Oman are placed in Group B along with Yemen, DPR Korea and Jordan. Yaqoob al Sabahi’s boys will commence their campaign at Asian tournament with a match against Yemen team on September 21 at MBPJ Stadium. In the second match, Oman team will meet Jordan at Petaling Jaya Stadium while the last match of the group phase will be against DPR Korea at the same venue.
